Collaborations with Lola Perrin

Lola Perrin is a London based pianist and composer. Connected through social media, we have produced works inspired by each other’s creations, exploring creativity beyond our own art form.

In 2007, I held my first international solo exhibition in London’s South Bank Centre in 2007, presented in conjunction with a concert by Lola. I exhibited 12 drawings inspired by her music.

My collaboration with Lola continued in 2009 when we produced compositions responding to Hussan Chalayan’s work on cultural migration and displacement, along with 190 personal stories collated into book form by Lola (read more about this project and hear Lola’s composition here). My work, The Sea of Names, was used as the cover illustration of the book (now held at the Museum of Design) and features on Lola’s manuscript by the same name.

Currently, Lola is performing music from her most recent series of 9 suites. I am delighted to have designed the cover image for this series.
